    This position is for Parker Hannifin’s Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. The standard work hours for this position are typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Manufacturing Engineer II will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations spanning both first and second shifts. This position focuses on driving continuous improvement initiatives and sustaining efficient manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer II will handle day-to-day manufacturing engineering issues, troubleshoot production challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    + Evaluate moderately complex manufacturing processes by applying their knowledge of product design, tool design, fabrication, assembly, and materials.

    + Develop moderately complex manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, testing, and modifying manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.

    + Implement lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies.

    + Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

    + Support the business by calculating production targets, labor standards, and material costs.

    + Work with outside vendors and customers to support problem solving, process improvements, and root cause corrective actions.

    + Identify and implement effective solutions to address challenges related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

    + Develop comprehensive documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures to ensure standardization and regulatory compliance.

    + Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.

    + Perform other duties as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related field, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

    Experience:

    + 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.

    + MSS mainframe experience, preferred.

    Skills:

    + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts in English.

    + Bilingual in Spanish or Tagalog, preferred.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

    + Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to understand electronic processing.

    + Ability to apply understanding of basic engineering principles and mathematics such as strength of materials, mechanical design, geometry, and algebra.

    + Working knowledge of blueprint and GD&T interpretation.

    + Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    + Ability to analyze situations critically and make informed decisions.

    + Ability to work, train, and develop verbal and written instructions.

    + Ability to be innovative and embrace Lean enterprises principles and practices.

    Physical Demands:

    + Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.

    + Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.

    + Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.

    + Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time.

    + Ability to safely work on the manufacturing floor and operate or be around heavy machinery.

    + Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Competitive Compensation

     

    + Pay Range: $83250 to $138550 annually

    + Participation in Annual Incentive Program
