Brief Position Overview
The Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers a Bachelor of Science in Business, with a concentration in marketing degree. Marketing courses are also taught in the M.S. in Innovation and Management graduate program. To accomplish our mission, a significant portion of our teaching faculty should have professional experience in practicing marketing. We seek experienced marketing professionals capable of teaching a variety of established courses within our curriculum. Additionally, we are interested in candidates capable of developing coursework in contemporary and industry-relevant areas, such as social media marketing.

General Statement
Montana State University invites experienced marketing professionals to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship faculty as Instructors, delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world marketing education. Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.
Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in the pool for up to two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to resubmit their application materials for continued consideration.
Application materials will be reviewed by the appropriate search committee or hiring authority, and applicants will be notified if they are being considered for an open position.
Non-tenure-track appointments may be part-time or full-time and vary in duration depending on the specific needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and the duration of the appointment.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Teach undergraduate and/or graduate marketing courses in on-campus and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction.
+ Incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of marketing principles and practices.
+ Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in marketing education to maintain course relevance.
+ Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Relevant marketing certification (e.g., AMA Professional Certified Marketer (PCM®), Google Analytics Certification, HubSpot Content Marketing Certification, Digital Marketing Certification).
+ Ph.D. in Marketing or a related field.
+ Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in marketing.
+ Strong knowledge of current industry trends and practices in areas such as digital marketing, branding, consumer behavior, market research, or strategic marketing.

+ Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University ( AFMSU ).
