The Prime Video Advertising team is at the forefront of revolutionizing the streaming advertising landscape. Our mission is to deliver ad tech solutions that power Prime Video's rapidly growing advertising business. We focus on a wide range of critical areas including ad ingestion, ad delivery, client-side ad experiences, machine learning-driven optimization, ad tracking, and audience measurement. We’re responsible for advertising across video-on-demand (VOD), live streaming, and display ads on Prime Video, delivering value to both advertisers and viewers worldwide.

We are looking for a passionate and talented iOS Software Development Engineer who has experience building world-class mobile apps. You will be responsible for developing innovative advertising experiences on our iOS applications.

Key job responsibilities

Core Development

* Design, develop, and maintain various ad formats including non-interruptive formats, pause ads, interactive video ads (IVA), and sponsorship experiences, ensuring seamless integration with existing video streaming functionality

* Build responsive, performant, and visually compelling user interfaces using Swift and SwiftUI/UIKit

* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions for innovative ad experiences

* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following iOS development best practices and Prime Video's coding standards

* Optimize ad loading and caching strategies to minimize impact on video playback performance

Quality & Performance

* Conduct thorough testing including unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests to ensure ad format reliability

* Profile and optimize application performance, focusing on memory management, battery efficiency, and smooth animations

* Debug complex issues across different iOS versions and device types

* Monitor crash reports and performance metrics, proactively addressing issues in production

Collaboration & Innovation

* Partner with cross-functional teams including Devices, Prime Video Ads, and Amazon Ads teams to deliver integrated solutions

* Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your own work

* Stay current with iOS platform updates, new frameworks, and industry trends in mobile advertising

* Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions for new ad products

* Document technical specifications, implementation details, and best practices for the team

Operational Excellence

* Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and resolve critical issues

* Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and infrastructure

* Mentor junior developers and share knowledge through technical presentations and documentation

* Support A/B testing and experimentation frameworks to validate new ad format effectiveness

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience

- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
