Description
Amazon’s Central Learning Solutions organization is responsible for building scalable, secure, and intelligent learning platforms used across Amazon. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead high-impact programs across user profile access and identity capabilities, application security, data security, and design AI-powered learning product, including responsible LLM usage.
In this role, you will also identify, evaluate, and lead collaboration on internal AI tools, whether developed within Central Learning Solutions to meet our business goals or created by other Amazon organizations where reuse or partnership can accelerate impact. You will drive alignment, integration, and adoption of these tools while ensuring they meet Amazon’s security, privacy, and operational standards.
This role requires strong technical depth, excellent program execution, and the ability to influence across engineering, security, science, legal, and business teams. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, delivering secure and compliant solutions while enabling innovation at scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive large, cross-organizational technical programs from concept through launch, including planning, execution, risk management, and post-launch operational readiness.
- Lead programs for user profile access, authentication, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC) across learning platforms.
- Partner with IAM and security teams to ensure least-privilege access, auditability, and compliance with Amazon security standards.
- Drive Application Security (AppSec) initiatives, including secure SDLC adoption, threat modeling, security reviews, and vulnerability remediation tracking.
- Lead programs ensuring data security, privacy, encryption, and access controls for learner and enterprise data.
- Program manage the launch of AI-powered learning products, including features leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Identify internal AI tools and platforms (developed within Central Learning Solutions or by other Amazon organizations) that align with our business goals or can accelerate delivery.
- Lead cross-org collaboration with owning teams to evaluate fit, define integration plans, align roadmaps, and drive adoption of shared AI capabilities.
- Ensure internal AI tools meet security, privacy, responsible AI, and operational readiness requirements before adoption or launch.
- Coordinate cross-functional reviews with security, legal, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure responsible AI usage, data boundaries, and model governance.
- Define and track program success metrics, communicate status and risks clearly to senior leadership, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, reducing duplication, and inventing mechanisms to scale AI capabilities across teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
