Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Foreman I Electrician (Power System). You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Dams Office, Davis Dam Field Division located at the Davis Dam in Bullhead City, AZ. Responsibilities Provides leadership for Power Systems Electricians and others in accomplishing all activities required for operating and maintaining and repairing power plant equipment such as the following; transformers, HVAC systems, security systems, metering, relaying, and control systems, SCADA and RTU systems and PLC controls. Responsible for power plant operations, including high voltages switching, switching program development, safe clearance and Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP). Required to perform operational duties such as: starting, stopping, and synchronizing large hydroelectric generators, operating high voltage circuit breakers and disconnect switches, performing inspections on pneumatic, hydraulic, lubricating, and water treatment systems, maintaining station log book, metering and water flow data records, abides by safe clearance procedures and safety practices recognized by the industry. Locates trouble and maintains electrical equipment and related circuitry in high voltage substations and/or hydroelectric generating stations. Installs and/or assists with installation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic equipment. Schedules maintenance activities, delegates work assignments and demonstrates proper work methods. Assures that needed plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available. Performs job hazard analysis and insures compliance with safe working practices, directs weekly safety meetings, and maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for supplies used in the power plant. Supports the Reclamation Capital Asset Resource Management Application (CARMA), ensuring work orders and job plans are up to date. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position. A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
