Credentialing & Privileging Supervisor

Position Summary

The Credentialing & Privileging Supervisor manages the full lifecycle of provider credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging for licensed and clinical staff. This role ensures compliance with California regulations, HRSA FTCA requirements, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, payer credentialing, and NCQA/Joint Commission standards. The supervisor leads the credentialing team, oversees workflows, ensures data accuracy, and collaborates with leadership, providers, and external agencies to maintain timely, compliant processes.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in business/healthcare administration or 5+ years of hospital/healthcare credentialing experience

+ NAMSS certification: CPMSM or CPCS

+ Knowledge of credentialing regulations, CMS, state laws, and accrediting standards

+ Experience with audits (TJC, FTCA, IPA/plans)

+ 1–2 years supervisory or lead experience; ability to manage up to 5 employees

+ HR experience preferred

+ Strong English communication skills; additional languages a plus

+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills

+ Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and credentialing processes

+ Must complete credentialing process successfully

Essential Responsibilities

+ Oversee credentialing & privileging to ensure qualified providers

+ Supervise Credentialing & Enrollment team for optimal performance

+ Act as HR subject matter expert for credentialing and enrollment

+ Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies

+ Audit and process applications, verifications, and reappointments

+ Maintain confidential records and support Credentialing Committee

+ Report findings and implement approved actions promptly

+ Develop and update policies and procedures

+ Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, state/federal laws, and accreditation standards

+ Promote a culture of safety and quality

+ Other duties as assigned

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $87360.00 - $100000.00/yr.
