Job Title: Civil Project Engineer IJob Description

A full-service civil engineering firm is seeking a dedicated Civil Project Engineer I to join their team in Woodbridge, VA and/or Fairfax, VA. The successful candidate will assist team members across all project phases, with a strong focus on developing designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.

Responsibilities

+ Support the development of site designs on various land development projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

+ Lead the development of design and technical documents through all project phases, focusing on design efficiencies with Civil 3D.

+ Assist in design efforts for water and sanitary sewer design, subdivision plans, construction drawings, and work with internal production staff to meet deadlines for site development projects including layout, grading, geometry, utilities, and storm drainage.

+ Conduct planning studies, preliminary and final design plan production, and project permitting.

+ Design erosion and sediment control plans and measures in accordance with state criteria.

+ Perform quality assurance and quality control on your own work.

+ Assist in training and development of junior staff members.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is preferred.

+ 2-6+ years of experience in land development design projects, including stormwater management, site grading, and erosion & sediment control.

+ EIT Certification and/or PE License is preferred.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

+ Experience with local projects in Northern VA - DMV area is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience developing construction documents is advantageous.

+ Project or team management experience is a plus.

+ Plans to obtain EIT Certification and/or PE License if not already held.

Work Environment

The work environment is an open office with a collaborative atmosphere, fostering a family-oriented culture. Initially, the role requires full-time in-office presence for 30-90 days, after which a hybrid schedule allows for remote work 2-3 days per week. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
