HIRING: SAFETY OFFICER!!!!
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and effectively address non-compliance issues. The role involves delivering site-specific safety orientations, supporting the creation and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses, and tracking Environmental Health and Safety metrics to provide trending reports. The Safety Officer will implement the EHS Management Plan and review contractor EHS submittals, leading weekly meetings to discuss upcoming activities and potential risks.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure compliance with client standard operating procedures.
+ Deliver site-specific safety orientations to the team and relevant parties.
+ Support Construction Manager in preparing and implementing Job Hazard Analyses.
+ Track and analyze Environmental Health and Safety metrics; provide trending reports.
+ Implement the EHS Management Plan and Environmental Health and Safety Plan.
+ Review contractor EHS submittals including EHASPs, JHAs, reports, hazardous material plans, waste management, erosion control, and SWPPP.
+ Lead weekly EHS meetings with contractor representatives to review upcoming activities and risks.
+ Submit daily CMEHSO reports and document non-compliance.
+ Prepare monthly contractor performance trending analysis.
+ Report, investigate, and analyze all observations, hazards, incidents, and near misses via ePMIS.
+ Oversee Emergency Action Plans and drills with client bureaus.
+ Submit monthly EHS status reports and metrics; manage annual reports including EPCRA, hazardous waste, and confined space.
+ Participate in client audits and OEHS assessments.
+ Conduct OSHA 1910 inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
+ Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
+ Experience with EBuilder.
+ DEP experience preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Education in Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences preferred.
+ BSCP certification.
+ CHST, CSP, ASP certifications.
Work Environment
This position is located at the Oakwood Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant in Staten Island, NY, with working hours from 7am to 3:30pm. You will be working in a comfortable trailer equipped with heating and air conditioning, alongside a growing team currently consisting of six members. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $51.00 - $70.00/hr.
