Job Title: Quality Lab Technician
Job Description
As a Batch Adjuster in the Quality Control Lab, you will ensure that all prescribed testing of production batches is conducted according to established test methods. You will verify that all production batches meet the required specifications, including color limits, before they proceed to filling. Your role involves approving final fill check panels for production.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct various quality tests including color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties.
+ Determine necessary adjustments to bring products into quality specifications.
+ Maintain records of batch adjustments and fill checks on batch tickets.
+ Follow all ISO procedures.
+ Prepare fill check panels and provide approvals for filling.
+ Consult with the Quality Manager as needed.
+ Engage in short-term projects to improve the efficiency of the Quality Department.
+ Transfer hazardous wastes to the satellite hazardous waste area and ensure proper labeling of containers.
+ Maintain clean and organized workstations and retain storage areas.
Essential Skills
+ 1-2 years of experience in quality control, preferably in a related industry.
+ Knowledge of wet chemistry and quality control procedures.
+ Basic math skills, including percentages and fractions.
+ Ability to work with colors and physical properties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Annual RCRA training.
+ Outgoing personality with the ability to ask questions and engage actively.
+ Ability to multi-task effectively.
Work Environment
The role involves working 95% of the time in a lab and 5% on the floor, handling hazardous materials. The dress code includes lab glasses, button-up shirts, and pants. The second shift runs from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional optional weekends during busy periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
