Description
We are seeking an Electrical Designer / Electrical Engineer who can take ownership of the design of industrial control panels, electrical subsystems, and supporting documentation while coordinating with mechanical and manufacturing stakeholders. This individual will work closely with the electrical design team to reduce workload across subsystems and ensure accurate updates, changes, and transitions throughout the project lifecycle. This role is 80–90% electrical design / project coordination and 10–20% hands‑on build support as needed. This person will act as the design counterpart to an existing technician who handles physical build‑outs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Electrical Design & Drafting Design industrial control panels, remote I/O cabinets, PLC‑connected systems, and AC power distribution (including 480VAC systems). Produce and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable harness designs, and panel layouts. Work heavily in AutoCAD Electrical initially; contribute to the team’s transition into SolidWorks Electrical beginning mid‑March. Create clear, complete drawings and documentation for technicians to execute build work. 2. Subsystem Ownership & Project Coordination Start by owning one or two smaller subsystems, expanding responsibilities as proficiency increases. Manage electrical updates that originate from mechanical design changes, ensuring seamless communication between teams. Coordinate closely with: -Mechanical engineering teams for design changes -Manufacturing teams (e.g., production kickoff post‑March) -Electrical technicians building prototypes or final assemblies Maintain and update existing documentation as the project evolves. 3. Hands‑On Support (10–20%) Support panel build efforts when needed (technician handles the bulk of hands-on work). Assist in prototype bring‑up and troubleshooting to validate designs. 4. Software & BOM Workflow Utilize Excel for BOM work and documentation. Assist in transition efforts from AutoCAD to SolidWorks Electrical. Drafting accuracy and strong understanding of electrical drawing best practices is essential. 5.PLC Integration Awareness Understand PLC fundamentals: I/O, wiring practices, logical connectivity, and basic control concepts. (Optional, nice‑to‑have) Ability to contribute to PLC programming logic, though this is handled by a separate team.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
