We are seeking a visionary Principal Systems Engineer to lead an innovative aircraft development effort. This role involves shaping the architecture, performance, and technical direction of an advanced aerospace platform from concept to detailed design. Ideal candidates thrive at the intersection of innovation and rigor and can translate mission needs into executable engineering solutions while guiding multidisciplinary teams toward a unified technical vision.
Responsibilities
+ Drive the design and maturation of next-generation aircraft systems.
+ Collaborate with experts in aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing.
+ Engage in requirements analysis, system modeling, integration, verification, and technical risk management.
+ Develop and manage the requirements traceability matrix (RTM).
+ Lead Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) planning and risk reduction.
+ Perform trade studies focusing on weight, power, cost, and survivability.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.
+ Approximately 10 or more years of relevant experience.
+ Expertise in requirements management, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system integration, and technical performance tracking.
+ Experience with FAA regulations and new aircraft design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with avionics systems and translating Navy capability requirements into system requirements.
+ Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, MATLAB, and conducting trade studies.
+ Experience or certification in INCOSE standards.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced with a business casual dress code. The main location is the Rocky Mountain Campus, equipped with a gym, cafeteria, and coffee shop. A hybrid work model is offered, but onsite collaboration is preferred. Support is available for those working in Dayton, OH, Plano, TX, or Wichita, KS, with occasional onsite requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $88.00/hr.
