Description
Execute immunohistochemistry (IHC) and specialized staining protocols within the histology lab.
Prepare human tissue and fluid samples for microscopic evaluation through accurate processing techniques.
Produce histopathology slides from surgical specimens, ensuring technical excellence throughout the workflow.
Section embedded tissue using a microtome and mount slides for optimal microscopic analysis.
Conduct immunohistochemical testing on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
Apply routine and advanced staining methods to mounted sections for diagnostic clarity.
Accurately orient and embed surgical tissue samples for downstream analysis.
Formulate and maintain reagents and stains required for specialized procedures.
Deliver timely and precise test results to support superior patient care.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain both manual and automated laboratory instruments.
Document equipment performance, preventive maintenance, and quality control measures consistently.
Uphold laboratory quality standards, including specimen handling, processing, and reporting protocols.
Identify and resolve issues impacting test performance, implementing corrective actions promptly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology—or equivalent credentials meeting CLIA and state regulatory standards.
Histology certification and ASCP credentials are a plus.
Strong background in immunohistochemistry techniques is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with routine histology workflows and instrumentation.
Skilled in embedding specimens of varying sizes with precision.
Ability to interpret labels and documentation accurately.
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory setting.
Familiarity with standard operating procedures and laboratory safety guidelines.
Must successfully complete a standardized color vision assessment.

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.30 - $24.30/hr.
