    Assist in overseeing construction projects from start to finish. Coordinate and supervise the activities of construction workers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Monitor project progress and report any deviations from the plan. Help in managing project schedules and deadlines. Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment. Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks. Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients. Contribute to problem-solving and conflict resolution on-site. Maintain project documentation and records.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee construction projects from initiation to completion.

    + Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.

    + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

    + Monitor project progress and report deviations from the plan.

    + Manage project schedules and deadlines.

    + Procure materials and equipment.

    + Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks.

    + Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.

    + Contribute to problem-solving and conflict resolution on-site.

    + Maintain project documentation and records.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in construction, site construction, and construction management.

    + Proficiency with Procore and quality control processes.

    + Ability to supervise ground-up commercial construction projects.

    + Experience in subcontractor management.

    + Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

    + Understanding of project scheduling and steel structures.

    + Strong interest in the construction industry.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work both in a team and independently.

    + Basic understanding of construction procedures and material management.

    + Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

    + Basic proficiency in construction management software is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The project is located in Joliet, IL, and is a fully on-site role working on a three-story self-storage building for Uhaul. This position requires working on weekends only, with potential Friday/Thursday crossover during the first weekend. The project is expected to last 8 weeks.

    This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr.
