Position Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing analytical testing, color evaluation, and in‑process quality checks to ensure products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in supporting manufacturing operations by providing accurate data, communicating results, and collaborating cross‑functionally to maintain consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
+ Execute Analytical Testing:
+ Perform routine and non‑routine analytical tests on batches and raw material samples using laboratory instrumentation such as pH meters, viscometers, melting point apparatus, analytical balances, and temperature‑controlled water baths.
+ Color Matching & Evaluation:
+ Assess assigned batches for color accuracy, compare results against established standards, and collaborate with compounders to recommend and implement required adjustments.
+ Sample Preparation & Documentation:
+ Prepare samples for analytical testing, customer submission, and packaging; ensure accurate labeling, traceability, and compliance with documentation protocols.
+ In‑Process Quality Checks:
+ Conduct real‑time quality assessments—including gravity, color, viscosity, and pH—to support production workflow and ensure batches remain within specification throughout processing.
+ Cross‑Functional Communication:
+ Work closely with compounders, production teams, and customers to communicate test results, obtain approvals, and troubleshoot quality deviations or required adjustments.
+ SOP & Audit Compliance:
+ Record all testing activities, observations, and results in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP standards, and audit requirements to maintain data integrity.
+ Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
+ Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure testing accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
+ Product Verification Testing:
+ Conduct final product verification to confirm batches meet all required quality, performance, and regulatory benchmarks prior to release.
+ Continuous Improvement & Support:
+ Assist with additional lab responsibilities as needed, including process improvement initiatives, method development, housekeeping, and overall support of lab operations.
Required Skills & Competencies
+ Strong laboratory skills and hands-on experience with analytical testing instrumentation
+ Knowledge of GMP, quality control, and quality assurance principles
+ Expertise in color matching and visual evaluation techniques
+ Solid understanding of laboratory safety and documentation best practices
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and internal collaboration
+ Detail-oriented with strong problem‑solving and data accuracy skills

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wharton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
