Project EngineerPosition Overview
The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Project Manager with planning, coordinating, and executing heavy civil and marine construction projects. This position ensures technical accuracy, compliance with specifications, and timely documentation throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
+ Review engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with project requirements
+ Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and procurement of materials and equipment
+ Maintain project logs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports
+ Perform quantity take‑offs and support cost estimating activities
+ Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, safety, and quality
+ Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
+ Identify and resolve technical issues during construction
+ Ensure all work meets DOT, USACE, and industry standards
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
+ 1–3 years of experience in construction or engineering (internships included)
+ Familiarity with heavy civil, bridge, or marine construction
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
+ Strong organizational and communication skills
+ Ability to work in field conditions and travel as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of DOT specifications and marine construction practices
+ Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools
+ OSHA safety training certification
+ 2+ years of project engineering experience on projects over $15M
+ Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, heavy civil, marine, highway, railroad, or foundation construction
+ Preferred experience in marine, open‑water, or shoreline construction
Work Environment
This position requires onsite presence five days per week at the corporate office, with potential assignments at client locations as needed. The organization operates a large fabrication facility and maintains its own equipment fleet, supporting high‑precision, technically demanding construction projects. This is a Permanent position based out of Plantsville, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
