Job Title: CNC Machinist and Programmer
Job Description
Join our team as a CNC Machinist and Programmer where you will be responsible for planning, programming, and executing precise machining operations. You will work with advanced machinery, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances to ensure high-quality production.
Responsibilities
+ Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans.
+ Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
+ Manage stock inventory and anticipate needed materials.
+ Program mills and lathes by setting tool registers and calculating requirements.
+ Set up and adjust machines including chucks, tools, and attachments.
+ Load stock into position and verify settings by measuring positions and sample work pieces.
+ Maintain specifications through observing and adjusting machining processes.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
+ Ensure safety by adhering to procedures and regulations.
+ Document production processes and communicate with other shifts.
+ Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and machine setup
+ Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and engineering plans
+ Strong understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
+ Ability to use calipers and conduct inspections

Work Environment
Work in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced CNC machines, including Okuma, Haas, and Makino systems. This position is for the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment. Dress code is casual and safety-focused.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
