    Job Title: Facilities Mechanic

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Facilities Mechanic to perform maintenance work requiring expertise in various trades. This role involves repairing and replacing windows, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as preparing vacant units for new occupancy. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in facility maintenance and the ability to work independently.

    Responsibilities

    + Replace windows, window glass, screens, and spouting.

    + Repair plumbing issues such as clogged drains, pipes, faucets, and toilets.

    + Fix covers for switches and outlets.

    + Replace and repair apartment appliances, including ranges and refrigerators.

    + Prepare vacant units for new occupancy by patching and painting walls, replacing cabinets and countertops, and stripping and waxing floors.

    + Perform necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of five years of experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical repair, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical work.

    + Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel.

    + Ability to work independently with proven time management and dependability skills.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Strong problem-solving abilities.

    + Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and insurable under the company's plan.

    + Mid-level knowledge of methods, practices, and materials used in maintenance and repair work.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge of tools used in building maintenance.

    + Mid-level understanding of electrical and plumbing systems and repair.

    Work Environment

     

    The role requires 37.5 hours per week with on-call weekend duties compensated at 1.5x the regular rate. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, involving physical exertion common in construction and maintenance. Employees are exposed to various weather conditions and temperature extremes. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, and using hand tools. A professional appearance is required, and the position includes on-call rotation after the probationary perio

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
