Your Impact at SAM

The Damage Prevention Specialist plays a critical role in preventing utility damages by serving as a liaison between homeowners, contractors, and the gas utility. This position promotes safe excavation practices, ensures accurate utility markings, and supports compliance with state 811 dig laws.

Key Responsibilities

+ Promote and enforce safe digging practices in accordance with state 811 dig laws

+ Visit active job sites using a company-provided vehicle to communicate with contractors and homeowners regarding safe excavation procedures

+ Coordinate and facilitate corrections or updates to gas utility markings as needed

+ Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of utility markings

+ Accurately document daily activities, observations, and field findings

+ Assist with identifying marked utilities, structures, and map information in the field

+ Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment

+ Complete other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to SAM

+ Experience with locating gas utilities highly preferred

+ Valid driver's license

+ Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year

+ Proficient communication verbal and written communication
