    Position - Assistant Long-Term Care Nurse Manager

    The Assistant Long-Term Care (LTC) Nurse Manager supports the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care in the long-term care setting. This role ensures regulatory guidelines are met, particularly related to the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAA), and care planning processes. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates closely with the LTC Nurse Manager, interdisciplinary care team members, residents, and families to promote optimal resident outcomes.

     

    The Assistant LTC Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight of nursing staff on a 24-hour basis and serves as a primary liaison between the LTC Nurse Manager, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), residents, and families.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines related to MDS, CAA, and individualized care plans

    + Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to meet residents’ medical and personal care needs

    + Supervise and maintain accurate medical treatment records and patient care documentation

    + Partner with the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery across all shifts

    + Assist with administrative responsibilities including staffing, scheduling, hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, and staff education

    + Participate in the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives, budgeting, and departmental policies and procedures

    + Support orientation, competency validation, licensure compliance, and ongoing education of nursing personnel

    + Provide direct patient care as needed and participate in on-call rotation

    + Serve on committees as assigned or as needed

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    + Degree in Nursing preferred

    + One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    + MDS experience preferred
