Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. We are seeking a motivated and talented Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position, requiring the employee to work at our designated office location. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a passion for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design, develop, document, test, and debug control and diagnostic systems.

+ Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers to plan and develop electronic data processing systems.

+ Analyze system capabilities to determine end-user needs and resolve program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.

+ Ensure compliance with hardware and software standards.

+ Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development and use.

+ Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use, as needed.

+ Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and software quality standards, as applicable.

+ Contribute to control modeling (model-based design).

Qualifications:

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience.

Experience:

+ Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Desired Certifications:

The candidate may possess one or more of the following certifications:

+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

+ AWS Certified Developer – Associate

+ Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer

+ CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)

+ Software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.

+ GitHub or GitLab Certifications

Additional Information:

+ This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to periodically work at our Nightwing Location (Sterling, VA).

Preferred Skills:

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies.

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

+ Knowledge of software configuration management tools and quality standards is a plus.
