Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Complete and comply with mandatory safety training as outlined for the job assignment

+ Complete and comply with food safety/GMP training as outlined for the job assignment

+ To clean and sanitize machinery and floors in a production line setting

+ Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around assigned area, basic floor pick-up, trash removal, setting up and tearing down floor mats,

+ Set up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies

+ Monitor and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas

+ May require use of a water hose, squeegee, etc.

+ Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard

+ Perform other duties as needed or as assigned

Qualifications

+ Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.

+ Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day

+ Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

+ Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

+ Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively

+ High School Diploma or equivalent certification

+ Ability to speak, read, and write English

+ Good verbal and written communication skills

+ Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

+ Must be well-organized with good attention to detail

+ Display strong work ethic and positive attitude

+ Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others

+ Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance

+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.

+ Strong desire to work hands-on work environment

+ Good attendance and safety records

+ Must be 18 years of age or older

Work Environment

Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.

+ Must be able to work in a very cold, damp environment

+ Production and maintenance settings

+ Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives

+ Slippery floors, cold temperatures
