Job Summary
As the Business Analyst I, you will be responsible for supporting database modernization efforts, facilitating stakeholder communication, and ensuring project deliverables align with business requirements.
Job Description
We are looking for a **Business Analyst I** for a **6-month contract** opportunity that is **hybrid** in **Concord, NH** . The selected candidate will evaluate database structures and develop stakeholder requirements for modernization projects.
What You’ll Do
+ Evaluate existing database structures, including Access and Excel databases
+ Develop, analyze, and document stakeholder requirements for a new database based on state and federal rules/statutes and staff input, including user experience and functional requirements
+ Facilitate communications with staff, including IT developers, environmental scientists, wastewater engineers, and project team members to ensure a clear understanding of database requirements
+ Create database documentation including business plans, entity relationship diagrams, process models, and descriptive project plan documents for the proposed database
+ Research and evaluate database solutions and implementation approaches, including interim solutions bridging current needs while awaiting enterprise system integration
+ Coordinate project activities and maintain project documentation to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule
+ Assist the business analyst with various tasks to support project success, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow
+ Continually seek to improve practices to add quality and value in support of the work and eliminate unnecessary or redundant actions
What You’ll Need
Required:
+ 5 years of experience with business analysis, including requirements gathering, process modeling, and functional analysis for custom software solutions
+ 3 years of experience defining, developing, and writing business requirements for database management systems
+ 2 years of experience with database modernization, especially from Access databases
+ 2 years of experience with data cleanup, standardization, and quality remediation
+ 2 years of experience with Microsoft technologies including Access, Visio, MSSQL, Teams, Word, and Excel
+ Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field, or relevant work experience
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication
Preferred:
+ 2 years of experience with data management systems, especially Oracle and SSRS
+ 2 years of experience working in public sector environments, including knowledge of local, state, and federal government processes and environments
+ 2 years of experience working with environmental information systems, especially those related to wastewater, including regulatory compliance and data management
+ 3 years of experience with essential project management documents and tools such as the Project Charter, Risk Register, and RASCI Matrix
Physical Demands
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$65.00 - $69.00 per hour
The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
