DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Caseworker 2, under the general supervision of the Casework Supervisor, Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Children, Youth and Family Services (OCYF), Placement Unit, performs case planning, screening and placement services for children and families. The incumbent serves as a liaison/resource for agencies, families, and children to help them through the permanency/placement process. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to reviewing the social history, psychological, psychiatric, medical, and school information on children referred for permanency/placement services as well as prospective adoptive/Permanent Legal Custodianship (PLC) families as assigned. Coordinate with ASCI Kinship Navigation to assure that referrals are made at appropriate interval. Make contacts to locate resource families and other placements for youth posted to the Online Bulletin Board. Monitors on-going mutual adjustment of child within the placement family. Provides casework services to children and placement families as needed. Participates in conferences with casework supervisors to discuss case planning, agency policy and general social services principles, weekly or as needed.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment.
+ Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
+ Schedules vary and travel is required.
+ Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time, 2 days per week after 6 months of employment. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania . The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1;or
+ Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;or
+ A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major;or
+ A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency;or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
+ Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
