Job Title: Financial Reporting and Compliance Analyst
Job Description
Join our team in the higher education sector to assist with year-end financial reporting and compliance. This role involves reviewing and analyzing contracts, specifically focusing on Subscription-Based Information Technology Agreements (SBITA), leases, and journal entries. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial documentation and compliance ahead of the fiscal year-end closing on June 30th.
Responsibilities
+ Review and analyze 20-30 purchase orders and agreements monthly to identify SBITA.
+ Utilize specialized software and Excel to extract purchase orders and supporting documentation for review.
+ Escalate 4-5 agreements monthly, using a checklist to identify key terms such as term duration, payment details, and software description.
+ Examine 2-3 leases monthly, focusing on new leases and renewals.
+ Assist in the creation and review of journal entries within the financial system.
Essential Skills
+ 1-2+ years of experience reading and analyzing vendor agreements and contracts.
+ Strong attention to detail to identify key terms and classify agreement types.
+ Ability to extract and input information into the GASB checklist.
+ Basic proficiency in Excel for database and checklist management.
+ Knowledge in accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Accounting degree or equivalent accounting experience.
+ Experience working with purchase orders.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems.

This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $39.00/hr.
