Quality Control Specialist
Schedule Options:
+ **Option A:** Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
+ **Option B:** Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
**Type** : 6-month contract to hire
**Compensation** : $20-$22/hour
**Location** : Onsite in Damascus, OR
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to ensure compliance and product integrity throughout our manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary quality representative for production activities, overseeing material approvals, documentation review, and release procedures. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain standards and resolve quality-related matters efficiently.
Core Responsibilities
+ Evaluate and authorize incoming materials for production use through comprehensive documentation review.
+ Assess analytical data and approve finished products for distribution.
+ Conduct in-process monitoring and testing throughout manufacturing cycles.
+ Facilitate timely communication of quality issues across departments.
+ Execute standard analytical procedures and testing protocols
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (one of the following):
+ Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field + 2 years in manufacturing environment with quality focus.
+ Associate's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field + 4 years in manufacturing environment with quality focus.
Essential Background:
+ Hands-on quality experience in food production, manufacturing, or health product operations.
+ Practical knowledge of regulated manufacturing compliance requirements.
+ Demonstrated experience with quality methodologies including deviation investigations, specification assessments, documentation protocols, auditing processes, and material verification procedures.
+ Laboratory or manufacturing floor experience.
+ Familiarity with FDA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
+ Background in nutraceutical, food & beverage, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sectors.
