Your Role at KIK
The Material Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping production running smoothly by ensuring the right labels and materials are accurate, available, and ready for daily manufacturing schedules in a complex private-label environment. This position is responsible for coordinating customer- and SKU-specific labels, barcodes, and related materials, using inventory systems and hands-on forklift operation to stage and manage materials across multiple storage locations. The role directly supports production, warehouse, and corporate teams by preventing delays, errors, and compliance issues before they reach the production floor.
This position is located at our plant in Houston, TX. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with occasional Saturdays during season. The pay rate for this role is $23.69 per hour.
What You’ll Do
+ Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts and assemblies between departments according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records
+ Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material (practice FIFO per QA SOPs )
+ Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments according to job order priorities and material availability
+ Examine material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
+ Arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedule
+ Complies and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports and status and location of materials
+ Required to participate and command the necessary skills to cycle count
+ Prepare materials to ship to other facilities as needed
+ Participates in monthly and annual inventory
+ Demonstrate and maintain exemplary care of all equipment
+ Complete routine paperwork and maintain records as required
+ General housekeeping duties as assigned
+ Communicate effectively with coworkers and members of management
+ Follow all safety and GMP guidelines
+ Follow all policies and procedures as applicable
What You’ll Bring
+ High school degree or GED equivalent required
+ 2+ years prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment supporting inventory, materials, or labeling preferred
+ Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems to locate materials and resolve discrepancies preferred
+ Experience working with multiple SKUs, part numbers, or customer-specific materials preferred
+ Ability to work in fast-paced and always changing environment
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions
+ Good communication skills both verbal and written
+ Ability to work safely
+ Must be able to work overtime and occasional weekends as required by business needs.
+ Must be able to perform physical job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, reaching, and moving materials throughout the shift.
+ Must be able to safely work in an industrial manufacturing environment, including exposure to chemicals and non-climate-controlled conditions.
+ Must be able to operate safely around equipment, climb ladders as needed, and wear required PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection).
