    Cust Service Rep 1 Manual Spexs

    Duties and Responsibilities (REQUIRED):

    Under general supervision, the Customer Service Agent I receive inquiries, primarily by phone, to resolve complicated issues impacting a driving record or other DDS database records. This position is on the Manual SPEXS Help Desk (formerly Tier 2) who processes the SPEXS duplicates for Georgia and other State to State jurisdictions and also supports our DDS Contact Center by conducting record maintenance. This escalation Help desk services the more complex phone calls, faxes and email inquiries such as habitual violators, safety responsibility, complex reinstatements and hearing requests along with other complex research inquiries and microfilm requests.

     

    The incumbent must have the ability to make accurate decisions to assist internal and external customers in a timely and precise manner primarily by telephone on a daily basis. This position’s work schedule is Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30pm but does require flexibility. In addition to phone calls, this position also services electronic inquiries which require a 24-48-hour response time. This position requires a full understanding of the agency suspension rules, business rules and excellent communication skills to interact with the general public, courts, law enforcement, CSC’s, other DDS departments, other state agencies in and outside of Georgia. This position is located in Conyers, Georgia

    Competencies Needed:

    Demonstrated competencies needed to successfully perform this job include:

    • Must have ability to gather, organize, and maintain information, determine its importance, and to provide accurate information in a timely manner.

    • Must have excellent oral communication skills.

    • Must have neat, legible handwriting and have the ability to communicate effectively.

    • Must be able to a handle high-volume of transactions in a sedentary job with professional telephone techniques.

    • Must have an attendance record of dependability and reliability.

    • Must display a high level of effort and commitment toward performing work and demonstrate responsible behavior.

    • Must know and be able to use email as a communication vehicle.

    • Must have a good knowledge and be proficient with the DDS database and the ability to navigate between databases for information.

     

    Must have experience using the basic Microsoft Office tools including Outlook.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating and providing information and/or complaint and problem resolution in a customer service setting.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two (2) years of customer experience handling calls from a high-volume call center, Customer Service Center or customer service department identifying and resolving customer problems.

    AND

    • Two (2) years direct contact with Georgia Courts related to driver license activities and problem resolution.

    OR

    • Prior knowledge of State and Federal Driver’s License Regulations
