The **Aircraft Mechanic I** performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft systems and components. Must possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft systems, applicable maintenance and technical manuals and publications, basic and special tools, and test equipment. Must have a working knowledge of ground support equipment and corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Inspects and certifies aircraft at specific intervals as required by OEM and FAA.
+ Troubleshoots system malfunctions, performs necessary corrective actions.
+ Documents maintenance of aircraft on appropriate forms.
+ Removes and replaces defective components.
+ Complies with service bulletins, instructions and airworthiness directives as directed.
+ Performs preflight/post flight turn around and daily inspections and servicing when required.
+ Research aircraft logbooks and historical data as required.
+ Complies with safety, foreign object damage, egress familiarization, and tool control program requirements.
+ Serves as a point of contact with the Quality Assurance Representative.
+ Advises management of problems that may delay scheduled delivery of aircraft to customer. 11) Ensures materials issued for assigned tasks are the correct items to repair the problem.
+ Provides on-the-job training to new employees as required.
+ Assists with supervision and inspects maintenance performed by FAA certified and non-certified personnel.
+ Services oxygen, nitrogen, tires, oil and hydraulic systems.
+ Performs corrosion control checks when required.
+ Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers businesses and coworkers.
+ Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
+ Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies.
+ Complies with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
+ Ensures safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.
+ Deals with the customer in courteous, professional and effective manner.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
+ Maintains the cleanliness of the work center.
+ Assist is aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
+ Turn-up and taxi qualified as required.
+ Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
+ Must have high school diploma or equivalent
+ Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic.
+ Must be familiar with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics, and normal safety requirements. Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
+ Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft mechanic courses and / or five (5) years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic or ten (10) years recent aircraft maintenance on similar type aircraft.
+ Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing / qualification requirements for the position.
+ Must have a valid driver's license.
+ Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft systems, applicable maintenance / technical manuals and publications, basic tools, special tools, and test equipment.
+ Must have a working knowledge of ground support equipment and corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
+ FAA or A&P license preferred.
+ Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
+ The diversity of working conditions may range from standard shop type environment where
+ there is no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject
+ individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc.
+ May be required to work where high noise hazards prevail. Will be required to wear protective clothing and other safety equipment.
+ Will be required to work with hazardous materials. Occasional (5%) for rescue or detachment
