Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
(Maximum of the first 5 will be included in the performance appraisal)
Demonstrates knowledge and functionality of operating systems and software. Serves as a super user and ensures computers and software are operational and accessible for each user.
Responsible for effectively providing direct training to employees on duties and responsibilities. Assists Manager in developing and implementing ongoing training programs. Provides input for employee performance evaluations and participates in performance improvement.
. Effectively communicates with employees in a fair, positive and constructive manner regarding performance and compliance with policies and procedures. Maintains and ensures all duties and functions are secured in a timely manner. Accountable for ensuring policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates are adhered to. Responsible to ensure that individual and department goals for productivity, efficiency and accuracy are achieved.
Responsible for ensuring referrals and authorizations are secured prior to or upon admissions adhering to limited denials. Ensure registrations accurately reflect patient's demographic, social, and financial information. Is accountable to work effectively with everyone to streamline and secure all registrations to include outpatients, same day surgeries, observation, pretest, inpatients and preregistrations. Ensure departmental procedures are adhered to and established objectives/goals are met. Effectively utilizes reports and logs as assigned.
Ensures that registration procedures are adequate to ensure timely filing and prevent denials and penalties. Works effectively with other departments (Patient Financial Services, Care Management, decentralized registration/lab areas, scheduling, physician offices, etc.) to resolve process issues. Ensures that Access staff has the knowledge and the tools to comply with regulatory and payer requirements.
Provides training in all cash collection policies and procedures. Responsible for identifying and implementing cash collection improvements and staff incentives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
