    The AMS E&S organization at Northrop Grumman Missions Systems in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a **Staff Engineer RF Microwave Design** to support several of our onsite product lines.

    What You’ll get to Do:

    In this role, you will lead the Hardware Design Team, and partner with other engineering function leaders to progress and mature hardware product in support of critical engineering reviews and milestones. This position supports the full design lifecycle including development, integration, and test.

    Related job functions include:

    + Oversee the design, modeling, and verification of the RF, microwave, and mixed signal assemblies.

    + Lead verification efforts for RF, Analog, and Digital hardware designs, as well as troubleshooting efforts and failure investigations.

    + Collaborating with peer functions such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Test, and IC design Engineers.

    + Deriving and trading requirements with subsystem engineers and component level designers

    + Mentor other engineers from a technical standpoint as well as perform senior peer review.

     

    This position is contingent upon having an Active Secret Clearance and obtaining SAP clearance.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable STEM degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience, 10 years of experience with Master's degree, or 8 years of experience with PhD. Additional 4 years experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.

    + Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SAP.

    + Familiar with RF/Microwave modeling, simulation and printed circuit board design tools (e.g. Keysight ADS, Xpedition, HFSS)

    + Drafting and design experience in PCB design for fabrication and PWB layer stack up for digital, RF and mixed signal CCAs.

    + Experience with test and troubleshoot from component to assembly levels.

    + Ability to provide solutions to a broad variety of RF/Microwave design and test related problems of complex difficulty.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience leading technical teams.

    + Strong understanding of hardware design principles, and Hardware Design Process.

    + Expert proficiency with industry standard RF/Microwave modeling, simulation and printed circuit board design tools (e.g. Keysight ADS, Xpedition, HFSS)

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
