    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dynamic and clinically expert Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor to lead our team of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) and Physician Assistants (PA). This dual-role position balances high-level clinical practice with administrative leadership.

     

    The APP Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of quality, service, and cost-effective care are provided to patients and families. You will serve as a bridge between frontline clinicians and organizational leadership, driving the advancement of departmental goals while fostering the professional growth of the APP team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Administration

    **Supervision:** Provide direct oversight to a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), including Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) and Physician Assistants (PA).

    **Professional Development:** Develop and coordinate clinical orientation, assess continued competency, and lead optimal professional development for the APP team.

    **Strategic Collaboration:** Partner with Service Line Directors in the hiring process and communicate the advancement of organizational and department/division goals.

    **Representation:** Represent the APPs within the APP leadership team to provide overall direction for the practice within the organization.

    **Quality & Innovation:** Drive Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Quality Improvement (QI), and education and research efforts delivered by the APP team.

    Clinical Role

    **Patient Management:** Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management of patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

    **Medical Assessment:** Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.

    **Treatment Planning:** Prescribe medications and develop comprehensive treatment plans; direct or participate in case management and continuing care.

    **Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver effective, efficient, and safe care.

    Education:

    Nurse practitioners are required to have, at minimum, a Master’s Degree as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

     

    Physician Assistants-Certified (PA-C) are required to graduate from a nationally accredited physician assistant program.

    Certification and Licensure:

    Neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) required for nurse practitioners

     

    Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) required for physician assistants

     

    NRP certification

     

    PALS certification required within 6 months of hire if working in Seattle Children’s Level IV NICU

     

    Licensure (ARNP or PA-C) in the state of WA

     

    DEA registration for the state of WA

    Preferred for NNP:

    Experience in the neonatal nurse practitioner role.

     

    Experience in a Level III NICU as a registered nurse.

    Preferred for PA-C:

    One year work experience in a neonatal intensive care unit, Level II or higher.

     

    Experience in the neonatal Physician Assistant role.

     

    Experience in a Level III NICU as a PA-C.

    Compensation

    **Base Pay:** $89,293.80 - $218,877 per year

    **Off-Shift Premium:** This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 12%. Based on current salary ranges, this differential would increase the total annual compensation of this role by an additional $10,715.26 to $26,265.24.

    **Leadership Stipend:** In recognition of the added administrative and supervisory responsibilities, this position is eligible for an annual 10% Supervisor Stipend.

    **Relocation:** This position is relocation eligible for qualified candidates.

     

    Salary Information

     

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
