We’re looking for an Executive Management Officer to join our Assistant Superintendent Section—a proactive, people-focused team working to attract and support the talent that drives our mission forward. The Executive Management Officer plays a key role in assisting the Assistant Superintendent. This position works closely with the Assistant Superintendent and assists with the Deputy Superintendents and Deputy Superintendent’s assistants.

Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job-Specific Details:
The Executive Management Officer serves as an advisor and confidential assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of the Office of State Police who serves as the appointing authority for the agency. In this role, you will :
+ Manage the detailed and complex analysis of issues affecting administrative programs
+ Assist the Assistant Superintendent in the implementation of policy and procedures necessary to achieve the goals and mission of the Office of State Police.
+ Functional supervision exercised over State Police staff on project basis
+ Broad administrative direction is received from the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent
+ Provides analysis for decision making and recommendations for corrective action, possible initiatives, implementation, etc. with regard to budget planning and administrative procedures
+ Responsible for monitoring, organizing and ensuring all information is available for selected general budget activities to include Patrol, Support, Criminal/Gaming programs and the Training Academy for review by the Assistant Superintendent for the Offfice of State Police
+ Confers with and serves as liaison to other high lever officials in federal, state and local governments and agencies an private industry relative to agency programs and operations of the Office of State Police
+ Conducts research utilizing state law, federal law, legislative acts, court orders, executive orders, budgets, policy statements and special commission reports
+ Assist the Superintendent as needed
+ In the absence of the Assistant Superintendent, has the responsibility of safeguarding, disseminating and/or handling confidential information
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position is a Promotional opportunity for permanent employees of the Department of Public Safety.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
