    Job Overview

     

    The Transactions & Operations Strategy Director reports to Fairview's EVP, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. The role is responsible for leading, managing and supporting system-wide transaction processes or other projects as determined by system leadership (e.g. M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, affiliations, etc.) from new idea generation and business case development through executive decision making, including due diligence and integration where appropriate. In addition, the role will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Legal Department, ensuring efficient and effective management of legal processes, and supporting the legal team in achieving its strategic goals. This role will partner closely with the EVP, CAO and General Counsel, other members of the Legal Team, Audit and Risk Department, and other key stakeholders to streamline operations, including outside counsel management, manage projects, and implement best practices. This position will partner closely with senior leadership, operations, legal, finance and subject matter experts (SMEs) to achieve defined growth goals for transactions identified for senior leadership and the legal team for legal department operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Leads, manages and supports transaction activities and processes (e.g. M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, affiliations, etc.) as identified by senior leadership across the Fairview system.

    + Supports system-level partnership activities and processes. Assists in evaluating transactional growth opportunities, manages relationships with external stakeholders, assists in establishing business cases, etc..

    + Supports negotiations with potential partners in conjunction with assigned senior leaders.

    + Establishes and manages transaction process and communications to visually manage transaction activities to ensure that they are completed successfully and according to agreed upon timelines.

    + Develops and continuously improves tools and processes that support the evaluation of opportunities, and effective executive leadership prioritization and decision making.

    + Assists the CAO and General Counsel and/or designee in oversight of daily operations of the Legal Department, ensuring efficient workflows, retention, and resource allocation.

    + Assist in managing the Legal Department's budget, including tracking outside counsel and other expenses, and recommending optimizing resource allocation.

    + Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects within the legal team and broader system, ensuring they align closely with organizational goals and objectives.

    Required Qualifications

    + Master's Degree

    + 5 years experience supporting systemwide strategic transaction processes to include M&A, Strategic Partnerships and /or affiliations

    + 3 years business operations experience to include vendor management and planning

    + Project management experience to include owning and advancing projects in a large matrixed organization

    Preferred Qualifications

    + 5 years health care transaction experience

    + legal operations experience

    The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
