Job Description
As part of the Oracle Health and Analytics Cloud Performance Engineering (PSR) team, you will be a key technical contributor focused on critical aspect of optimizing Performance, Scalability, Availability, and Reliability for Oracle’s mission-critical Cloud Services.
Your role covers all software development lifecycle stages from a performance perspective: architectural and design reviews, benchmarking, sizing, and resolving production performance issues to maximize customer satisfaction and success.
You’ll champion service reliability and efficiency, manage system changes, monitor infrastructure, respond to incidents, and plan capacity across entire cloud service ecosystems.
You will own significant projects/services, establish your influence within the team, act as a subject matter expert, and contribute to operational tooling and process improvements.
As an IC4, you are expected to leverage your extensive experience, which includes a minimum of 7+ years in software engineering or a related field, a solid understanding of architectural concepts surrounding Cloud Computing and Enterprise Software Development, and proficiency in Java/J2EE, with additional experience in Python being advantageous.
As an IC4, you will focus on complex challenges within specific projects or applications.
+ 7+ years of software engineering or related experience
+ Strong understanding of cloud computing and enterprise software architecture
+ Proficient with Java/J2EE, Python, (C++ is a plus)
+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
+ Sound understanding and exposure to AI/ML, prompt engineering, NLP, and speech processing, Data Engineering
+ Proficiency in Streaming and messaging technologies, Compute frameworks (Spark, Ray; Python/Scala/SQL)
+ Experience in development, debugging and scaling microservices architecture (Kubernetes, Docker)
+ Experience with load testing, profiling, and analysis tools in a distributed computing and cloud environments
+ Experience in resolving performance, scaling, and stability issues
+ Knowledge of open-source cloud technologies: Kubernetes, Kafka, caching, ElasticSearch, Big Data, etc.
+ In-depth knowledge of Linux, Docker, virtualization, compute, and networking
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
+ Participate in evaluating and evolving performance standards and methodologies.
+ Influence architectural and design capabilities of cloud services to maximize performance.
+ Analyze performance bottlenecks at all tiers to ensure services’ stability and scalability.
+ Perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems
+ Drive improvement in operational maturity and key performance indicators (KPIs) across services.
+ Organize and enhance incident management practices and take part in major technical migrations.
+ Collaborate internally and externally to align goals and prepare results with detailed analysis
+ Present updates to technical forums and provide status on periodic basis

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
