Job Description
The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats.
The Director of Business Operations will be an integral part of TS Leadership Team (ELT), reporting directly to the VP. Utilizing strategic and tactical approaches, and serves as a strategic advisor to and an extension of the VP, TS to address critical program needs, preserve company culture, and enhance the TS experience for our employees, customers and suppliers. Industry experience, executive presence, and relationship cultivation are critical skills for the successful candidate.
What You ll Do:
+ Serve as a key member of the Vice President s Leadership Team (LT); demonstrate a First Team mindset support of fellow LT members is a top priority.
+ Act as a strategic advisor to the VP/GM and the LT based on experience in industry, government, or academia. Look ahead and anticipate implications and opportunities of decisions, events, forums, and communications.
+ Strategically manage VP time, working with the LT and administrative staff to determine priorities.
+ Prepare for and follow up on meetings: prepare the VP for upcoming meetings by ensuring they have the information necessary to be productive and engaged.
+ In the VP absence, attend regular Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings and lead TS LT meetings.
+ In concert with the VP s executive assistant, coordinate and lead staff meeting topics, presenters and follow-up action items
+ Serve as liaison between TS employees, and leadership, regarding company culture, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
+ Play a key role in the organization and oversight of strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of executives.
+ Oversee and coordinate capital prioritization across the SCUs in support of the business unit
+ Work with the Program Management Office (PMO) to support Life Cycle Management (LCM) implementation across the business unit, act as the SBU (Strategic Business Unit) LCM focal point
+ Consolidate TS forecasting for engineering, manufacturing and program management to inform hiring strategies.
+ Oversee cross-functional, organization-wide projects and initiatives; bring together important stakeholders and helps drive decisions.
+ Together with Marketing and Communications, coordinate and align internal and external communications,. Handle inquiries and developing action plans to address them and assist with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
+ Propose the creation of new systems and processes for optimized efficiency and productivity.
+ Collect and provide TS stakeholder feedback for enterprise change initiatives and lead the change management process for the TS organization.
+ Manage the workload and development of one or more direct reports.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
**Short-Term Incentive:** Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor s degree in space science, engineering, or related field plus 12 or more years related experience.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.

+ Superb communication skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision-making and technical audiences.

+ Experience working in the Mission and Tactical Systems domain of defense industry.
+ Experience in an organization managing rapid growth.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
