Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer/Architect who can provide leadership on a digital data transformation platform. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing data architecture solutions that support business objectives. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining data models, data integration strategies, and data management policies. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Design, Develop, improve, and maintain a Master Data Map and implementation plans for MDM organization.

Consult on and/or develop change management documentation and workflows related to data storage, migration or alteration.

Maintain database security, integrity, reliability, and availability, monitor performance and capacity requirements.

Develop and implement standards for data structure to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy.

Collaborate with Corporate I.T. and business unit representatives for providing systemwide support of educational applications with data import/export, syncing, processing, analyzing, and reporting.

Ensure the control of data content is precise and unambiguous and the use of data is consistent and transparent.

Develop and recommend data architecture components in support of data catalogs, data governance, data pipelines and storage.

Support structured data, including database and file-based data management strategies, to enable effective application of retention policies and reduce sprawl of data.

Work closely with data stewards, data analysts, and other teams to ensure data models support current and future data management needs.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of related data management experience.

Experience with various relational database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) including data preparation (cleaning, sorting, aggregating) and storage.

Experience with ETL/ELT including tools such as Talend (preferred), Informatica, etc.

Experience with multi cloud environment, preferably Azure.

Ability to design and develop reporting data environment to help build an ecosystem to support report builders using SSIS, Tableau and Power BI or similar.

Knowledge of coding software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, etc.) and extensive knowledge in designing, testing, and maintaining database objects, tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, indexes, sequences, and triggers

Ability to help guide Data lineage, data transformation, data standardization, data masking, data storage, data retention, and Data governance.

Strong Understanding of Azure Architecture/various components: Azure Resource Manager, Azure Virtual Network, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure Storage.

Proficiency in Azure DevOps: Manage application lifecycle, (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing.

Knowledge of Azure Security: Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Security Center.

Proficiency in Azure Data Services: Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory.
