    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Gas Turbine Engineer for a client based in Houston, TX. This person MUST be comfortable with about 50-60% of travel both domestic and international locations. The primary focus of the job will be consulting with the client’s business units for HDGT turnaround/outage/project planning, execution, and optimization to help win in any price environment. The role will require a growth mindset, will demand continuous improvement, and will require embracing new digital ways of working. Acts as an internal subject matter expert for all mechanical aspects of gas turbine maintenance and operations. This includes turnaround/outage optimization, planning and execution, inventory management, procurement strategy and vendor management, upgrade projects, risk management, and troubleshooting. The role is a blend of office and field work and requires extensive travel domestic and international plus 12 hours plus shifts for up to and occasionally more than 30-45 days during outage execution. Travel will vary depending on outage loading but ranges ~40-60%.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    BS Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Aeronautical Engineering (or closely related technical field)

     

    10+ years of experience in field service engineer, field service representative role

     

    Experience working directly with the maintenance planning and execution of gas turbine (GT) outages including combustion (CI), hot gas path (HGP) and major inspections (MI).

     

    OEM or third-party GT Field Service prior experience

     

    Completion of an OEM field engineering program (FEP) or direct hire program (DHP)

     

    Must be comfortable with 50-60% travel (domestic and international) Experience with General Electric Heavy-Duty Fr 5, 6, 7 or 9 GTs.
