    Job Description

    A client of Insight Global is seeking a Software Developer to support a DOW program at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). This full-time, on-site role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for engineering applications in support of the Army’s Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A), the Army’s primary platform for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). The Software Developer will work closely with analysts to understand requirements, develop tools and interfaces, and design embedded systems software. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution applications; implementing secure CI/CD pipelines; and integrating configuration management tools in compliance with DoD RMF requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with YAML, .NET, Go, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, React, and Python, as well as DevSecOps tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CI/CD. Additional expertise in Kubernetes container lifecycle management and scripting with PowerShell and Batch is required. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline and have at least three years of relevant experience within the last five years. This role is highly technical and hands-on, focused on security controls, automation, and configuration management in a hybrid cloud environment, with the potential to help shape a new Software Engineering Environment for the Army and DoD.

     

    $55/hr to $70/hr.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
