Job Description

An employer is looking for a highly skilled Sr J2EE Hibernate Upgrade Java Developer to join one of our largest clients supporting a large unemployment project for a local state government client. In order to be successful on this team you must have hands-on experience supporting large complex applications and upgrading major versions of Hibernate in a highly visible public sector environment. This team is currently on Hibernate 3.0 and needs to move to Hibernate 5.6. In order to be successful in this role you must have hands-on and documented experience upgrading Hibernate in large complex systems. You must have at least 7 years of experience working on large scale, complex projects that includes actively upgrading and migrating with a major version of Hibernate and have a solid java development background. Candidates without hands on experience supporting a hibernate upgrade will not be considered. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with potential to extend or conversions depending on performance and budget availability. This client is local to St. Paul, MN therefore you must be comfortable going on site about 2 times pers week in order to meet with stakeholders and project leads to ensure performance and project progression is on track. They also have team members in Harrisburg, PA and Orlando, FL so those locations are accepted as well.

Skills and Requirements

-At least one documented and referenceable project migrating major versions of Hibernate - Simply using or understanding how to use Hibernate does NOT meet this requirement. Migration is a must.

-Full stack J2EE developer with at least 7 years of experience working on large scale projects.

-Ability to problem solve to support migration and conversion efforts for a large scale Hibernate upgrade.

-Spring Framework & Spring MVC experience

Hands on experience developing in full-stack J2EE projects.

-Relational database experience

-IBM RAD or Eclipse IDE

-Ideal candidates have deep full-stack Java experience, with recent hands-on advanced Hibernate development with the ability to analyze and design technical solutions independently. -Experience working within AWS Cloud environment

-Large scale Public Sector, Insurance, or Financial Systems project experience (Unemployment Insurance, Integrated ---Eligibility or Human Services, Medicaid/Medicare or other --Healthcare Insurance, Finance or Revenue Systems, etc.)

-DB2 Database environment experience
