    About the Role

    As a Platform Software Engineer at Meta, you will design and build foundational systems that power large-scale applications and services across Meta’s ecosystem. This role focuses on creating robust, scalable, and efficient platforms that enable product teams to innovate quickly while maintaining reliability and performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain core platform components, frameworks, and APIs used by multiple Meta products.

     

    Optimize system architecture for scalability, reliability, and security across distributed environments.

     

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, product engineering, security) to deliver high-impact solutions.

     

    Drive improvements in developer experience through tooling, automation, and best practices.

     

    Diagnose and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in production systems.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

     

    Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go).

     

    Solid understanding of operating systems, networking, and distributed systems fundamentals.

     

    Experience with large-scale system design and performance optimization.

     

    Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments. Experience building platform-level services for cloud or large-scale consumer applications.

     

    Familiarity with containerization, orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

     

    Knowledge of security best practices and compliance in platform engineering.
