As a Child Care Attendant for Blue Springs Fieldhouse Parks and Recreation, you will provide a safe, FUN, and nurturing environment for children (ages 3 months to 10 years).

This is a great job for a caring individual looking for part-time hours - this role will cover MORNING hours from 8am - noon / 20 hours weekly.

Duties will include:

+ Greeting each parent/guardian with a cheerful and caring attitude.

+ Ensuring that each child's name is recorded. It is vital that all custodial and safety procedures are followed.

+ Using creativity and high energy, you will engage in activities and interaction with children during their time in care.

+ Keeping children clean (hands washed, face wiped) at all times - as well as ensuring that toys are safe and sanitary is especially important. Following procedures to disinfect will ensure the care area stays safe for kids.

+ Levering your effective communication skills - you will maintain positive relations with parents, patrons, supervisors, and co-workers. It is important that you possess a calm nature in problem-solving situations. Should there ever be any incidents or injuries, it is important that they reported to your Supervisor and that proper forms are completed.

+ This position may present the opportunity to be an occasional Party Host - which could involve setting up a room, assisting with fun, and ensuring a seamless and positive celebration for the smallest of party guests.

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Previous child care experience is helpful - with references.

+ CPR and First Aid Certification are strongly preferred. If you are not yet certified, a willingness to obtain this certification is required (we will provide training).

Good judgment and decision-making skills are important for this position. Patience is a key attribute.

Childcare workers should have stamina and a good level of energy to complete all job duties and interact with games and physical activities. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently. Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate and handle general office equipment. Ability to lift 20 pounds.
