SUPERVISOR LEVEL
SUMMARY
The Supervisor Artificial Intelligence (AI) Developer is responsible for leading a team that designs, implements, validates, and supports artificial intelligence solutions used in support of nuclear operations and business functions. This role ensures AI applications are developed and used in a manner that upholds nuclear safety culture, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity requirements, and quality assurance standards. The Supervisor provides technical leadership, work direction, and governance oversight while partnering with engineering, operations, IT, cybersecurity, quality, and regulatory organizations to ensure AI solutions are conservative, explainable, auditable, and fit for use.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or related field (Preferred)
• Without the above degree, 5 additional years in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or related field may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
• 5 Years of experience across data science, AI, or data architecture roles. (Required)
• 3 Years Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. (Preferred)
• Nuclear power plant or other highly regulated industry experience. (Preferred)
MANAGER LEVEL

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• Certifications in AI or Cloud Architecture (Azure AI Engineer, Data Engineer, etc.) (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees the design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI solutions supporting nuclear operations, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, outage planning, and corporate fu nctions.
• Ensures appropriate human-in-the-loop controls are applied for safety-related or safety-impacting use cases.
• Approves AI solution architectures, validation approaches, and implementation plans.
• Ensures AI solutions comply with site licensing bases, quality assurance programs, records management, and change control requirements.
• Establishes and maintains AI governance processes, including documentation standards, validation, verification (V&V), and performance monitoring.
• Supports internal assessments, audits, and regulatory inspections related to AI systems.
• Coordinates with IT and cybersecurity organizations to ensure AI systems meet nuclear cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
• Ensures data integrity, access controls, and system configurations are maintained in accordance with approved programs.
• Addresses cybersecurity or data governance issues impacting AI applications.
FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure effective and efficient operations of the department.
• Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
• Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
Performs people management.
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Understands and implements company policies.
• Provide employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments. Resolves problems and interpersonal conflicts in the section.
• Perform personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals, development plans).
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance programs and configuration management practices
• Experience with AI model validation, explainability, and risk management
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles applicable to operational and enterprise systems
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
WORK LOCATION
• Due to the nature of the work, this position provides the ability for a hybrid work schedule between Site and an alternate work location. Alternate work locations require adequate technology and a solid ergonomic setup is present. Note: Work schedules are contingent on business need.
