    Job Summary

    The Energy & Environment Program Supervisor/Expert is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and implementation of energy or environmental programs. This position involves managing teams, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing expertise in energy or environmental policies. The Program Supervisor/Expert will work with stakeholders, including governmental bodies, the regulated community, and the public, to develop and execute initiatives aimed at enhancing Arkansas' energy or environmental efforts.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of professionals in energy or environmental program development and implementation. Develop and manage large-scale, complex energy or environmental programs across the state. Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance on policy development, regulatory compliance, and program evaluation. Monitor program performance, ensure alignment with state and federal laws and standards, and make necessary adjustments to achieve goals. Manage budgets, grants, and resources for state energy and environmental programs. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including governmental bodies, the regulated community, and the public, to drive energy or environmental programs. Report to department leadership on the effectiveness and outcomes of energy or environment initiatives. Represent the state on national and regional platforms related to energy or environmental issues. Performance of other duties as assigned.

     

    Knowledge and Skills

     

    Extensive knowledge of energy or environmental programs.

     

    In-depth understanding of state and federal applicable laws, regulations, and policy frameworks.

     

    Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and foster collaboration across multiple departments.

     

    Expertise in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation for large programs.

     

    Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

     

    Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to present complex issues to diverse stakeholders, including governmental bodies, the regulated community, and the public.

     

    Ability to stay current with emerging trends and technologies in energy or environmental programs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, conservation biology, natural resources management, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in energy or environmental program management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
