    This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI, 3 days per week. Domestic and international travel may be required.     What You'll Do

     

    The Managing Director will provide strategic direction and management of the Sanger Leadership Center, and will have experience building transformational learning communities. You will use this experience to enhance the student experience inside and outside of the classroom. You will work with students, prospective students, corporate recruiters, donors and prospective donors, faculty, and other staff members to ensure smooth running of the Center. You will report to the Faculty Director of the Sanger Leadership Center.

    Responsibilities*

    + Contribute to a positive, inclusive work community by building trusting partnerships and creating impactful leadership experiences. Approach all work with respect, inclusion, and diverse perspectives.

    Strategic Direction (40%)

    + Partner with Faculty Director(s) to set and advance the short- and long-term strategic vision for the Sanger Leadership Center

    + Design, launch, and scale new programs that build on Sanger's strengths in transformational leadership development and personalized coaching

    + Collaborate across Michigan Ross and the broader University to deliver cohesive curricular and co-curricular leadership experiences

    + Cultivate inclusive, learning-oriented peer and coaching communities involving students, staff, alumni, faculty, and corporate partners

    Center Leadership and Operations (40%)

    + Provide overall leadership for daily operations of all Sanger programs and workshops

    + Lead a versatile team (program, marketing, and operations staff), establishing clear priorities and performance expectations

    + Oversee staffing and execution of events, including logistics, facilities, presenters, and materials

    + Hire and onboard staff and student support roles

    + Represent the Center as a liaison to faculty, campus partners, vendors, sponsors, and media

    + Oversee program evaluation, continuous improvement, and assessment of impact

    + Manage financial, human, and physical resources, ensuring compliance with university policies

    + Support and administer financial operations related to faculty research labs

    + Partner with Ross degree programs, centers, institutes, and action-based learning units

    External Relations and Visibility (20%)

    + Lead relationships with external partners, including advisory boards, alumni, and organizational collaborators

    + Partner with Development to identify, cultivate, and steward donor and alumni relationships nationally and internationally

    + Represent the Center through presentations, conferences, and external events

    + Set strategic direction for marketing and communications, strengthening the Center's visibility and reputation

    + Collaborate with Faculty Director(s) to develop new leadership content, programs, and offerings

    + Meet with and coach individual students

    Required Qualifications*

    + 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including team management

    + 8+ years of experience in higher education leadership development

    + 3+ years of experience supporting institutional advancement or fundraising

    + 3+ years of experience partnering with marketing and branding teams

    + Experience leading assessment and data-informed programs

    + Demonstrated project management skills

    + Experience with strategic planning

    + Demonstrated fiscal and budget management experience

    + Creative approach to program and organizational development

    Additional Information

    Salary Information:

    The posting range for this position is $95,300 - $128,600. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
