Responsibilities

+ Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for geriatric psychiatric patients.

+ Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.

+ Provide patient and family education to support understanding of treatment plans and recovery goals.

+ Promote safety by implementing de-escalation strategies, crisis intervention, and adherence to safety protocols.

+ Collaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Qualifications

Education:

+ Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)

Certification/License:

+ Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa

+ Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
