    **Location:** Columbus, GA | **Pay Rate:** $83.94/hour | **Schedule:** 1st Shift: 8am to 5pm

    Role Summary

    PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced **NC Programmer** to provide targeted technical support that strengthens machining and manufacturing operations for a leading aviation manufacturer. In this highly impactful role, you will work directly with machine shop and manufacturing teams to optimize NC programs, support production floor execution, and implement efficiency improvements that increase throughput, reduce waste, and deliver measurable cost savings.

     

    This position is ideal for a hands-on NC programming expert who thrives in a collaborative production environment and enjoys seeing their work directly influence manufacturing performance.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    As an NC Programmer, you will play a key role in both daily operations and long-term process improvements. Your responsibilities will include:

     

    + Supporting daily NC programming activities, including toolpath optimization and machine setup recommendations

    + Leading and supporting key insourcing initiatives, including:

    + NC programming for parts and holding fixtures

    + Tooling selection and fixture design

    + Prove-out activities and first-piece runs

    + End-to-end support required to fully stand up new products

    + Reviewing and optimizing existing machining processes to reduce cycle time, minimize tool wear, and improve productivity

    + Working directly with shop floor personnel to troubleshoot issues and support production schedules

    + Identifying, documenting, and recommending efficiency improvements and cost-reduction opportunities

    + Collaborating with leadership to support process standardization and best-practice implementation

    + Providing recommendations for future tooling strategies, machine utilization, and workflow enhancements

    Key Deliverables

    + Optimized NC programs for targeted machining operations

    + New product planning support and process implementation

    + Documented efficiency and cost-reduction recommendations with a clear implementation roadmap

    + Weekly status reports outlining activities, observations, and recommendations

    + A final closeout report summarizing overall impact and improvement opportunities

    Required Qualifications

    + Strong experience with **5-Axis CNC programming**

    + Proficiency with **CATIA V5** , including NC programming

    + Hands-on experience with **probing systems**

    + Experience designing **holding fixtures**

    + Practical CNC machining and shop floor experience

    + Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists, engineers, and manufacturing leadership

    _Experience level:_

    + Typically **5+ years of relevant experience** is preferred; however, demonstrated capability and depth of expertise are more important than years alone. **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.**

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Advanced experience in CATIA NC 5-axis programming

    + Strong background in machining process optimization

    + Proven ability to lead or support insourcing and new product introduction efforts

    + Experience driving measurable efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives
