    **Job Type:** Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

    **Schedule:** Monday–Friday | First Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

    **Pay Rate Starting at :** $27.29 per hour

    Build Electrical Systems That Power Space Exploration

     

    PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled **Fabrication Specialists (Electrical/Electronic Assembly)** to support a high-profile aerospace program at the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) facility in New Orleans. In this hands-on role, you will directly contribute to the installation and assembly of electrical components on next-generation launch vehicles, supporting critical missions that advance space exploration.

     

    This position offers long-term stability, structured first-shift hours, and the opportunity to work on one of the most significant aerospace programs in the world.

     

    What You’ll Do

    As a Fabrication Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:

    + Performing electrical and electronic installation and assembly on aerospace hardware

    + Supporting composite fabrication of detail parts and sub-assemblies using carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight materials

    + Installing electrical components in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions

    + Using fabrication tooling, automated/motorized equipment, and NC equipment to complete assemblies

    + Selecting correct parts, materials, tools, hardware, and assemblies to meet planned operations

    + Preparing test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for testing activities

    + Performing basic organic chemical conversion, paint preparation, and application of routine organic coatings

    + Reporting workmanship issues, defects, or process constraints in accordance with established procedures

    + Maintaining strict safety compliance, including the use of required personal protective equipment

    + Upholding exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards

    + Coordinating work and sharing information with team members across shifts

     

    Day-to-day work will focus on installing electrical components on the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Contractors may rotate through different areas of the facility to support evolving electrical needs. Project-specific training will be provided onsite.

    Required Qualifications

    + Approximately **3 years of electrical installation or electrical assembly experience**

    + Ability to read and interpret **electrical blueprint drawings**

    + Comfortable working at heights, including use of **JLG lifts**

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards

    Education:

    + High school diploma or GED with typically 1 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.**

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in aerospace, aviation, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments

    + Familiarity with composite fabrication processes

    + Experience working in safety-sensitive or regulated facilities
