Kamatics is seeking an Abrasive Machinist IV - Grinder (2nd Shift) who performs multiple machining operations as part of the production process within the assigned cell, operating grinding and/or honing equipment to meet precise tolerance and finish specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Independently set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate centerless grinding, center grinding, or honing machines on a diversified line of work requiring intermediate-level skill

+ Perform machine setups involving an understanding of manufacturing order of operations and combinations of processes

+ Work from operation sheets and machine setup instructions

+ Select and adjust work-holding methods, work supports, stones, wheel speeds, wheel dressing, and machine parameters

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow all safety and environmental procedures and report incidents as required

+ Recommend improvements to work processes and actively participate in 5S initiatives

+ Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to a positive team environment

+ Support cross-training and learning of additional positions; perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Education

+ High school diploma or equivalent required

+ Machining Certificate preferred

Experience

+ Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience as a grinding operator OR

+ Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Knowledge of abrasive wheel and stone technology

+ Ability to select appropriate inspection methods based on GD&T requirements

+ Proficient in shop math

+ Ability to provide technical guidance and training to less experienced team members

+ Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

+ Ability to troubleshoot programming and process issues

+ Working knowledge of feed rate, surface finish, and surface speed relationships across standard aerospace materials
