NBC 6 WTVJ, the NBCUniversal Local station in South Florida, is seeking an Executive Producer to guide the content and growth of our multiplatform duopoly news operation. This role is responsible for the overall content, quality, and execution of newscasts across multiple platforms- from broadcast to digital, streaming, and social media. The right candidate will focus on winning breaking news and weather, providing depth and context to important stories as well as encouraging engaging and compelling storytelling on multiple platforms.
+ Lead all aspects of breaking news and live event coverage, ensuring speed, accuracy, and editorial integrity.
+ Coordinate with the digital team to align coverage strategies across linear, streaming, and social platforms.
+ Approve rundowns and newscast scripts.
+ Review daily line-up of stories and segments; develop future segments, stories and interviews for all platforms.
+ Shape compelling rundowns that balance breaking news urgency with storytelling depth, context, and visual excellence.
+ Oversee the editorial and visual quality of all newscasts and special projects, ensuring consistency, creativity, and impact.
+ Collaborate with anchors, reporters, and producers to elevate writing, pacing, and delivery.
+ Foster a unified culture of innovation, collaboration, and journalistic excellence across the duopoly newsroom.
+ Lead, coach, and inspire a dynamic team of producers, associate producers, and reporters.
+ Set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize outstanding performance.
+ Promote a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
+ Communicate clearly with directors, graphics, audio, and field crews to ensure flawless execution.
+ Work on special projects as assigned.
+ Assist with hiring and scheduling.
+ Have a strong attention to detail.
+ Embrace innovation and change.
+ Manage and communicate schedules for producer team.
+ Minimum of five years of experience producing newscasts in a medium or large market
+ Must possess strong journalistic skills, have ability to write and edit broadcast and digital copy
+ Creative approach to storytelling and problem solving
+ Ability to make priority decisions under deadlines
+ Must be self-directed, highly organized and detail oriented
+ Must function well in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment
+ Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
+ B.A. degree or equivalent in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field

+ Must be willing to travel and work long hours including on weekends and holidays with short notice for breaking news and hurricanes/severe weather coverage.
+ Must be willing to work on location in Miramar, FL.
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
+ Must have a valid Driver’s License.
