In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in repairing airline customer seat assembles and sub-components, partially or completely, replacing parts and sub-assemblies, and test/triage/assess by performing the following duties as directed by OEM and/or airline customer drawings, maintenance manuals, engineering instruction and other technical publications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
2. Must be able to read measuring instruments and use all hand tools for assembly.
3. Must be able to check blueprint rev's on the computer and be able to look up WPS and QAP's on the computer. Access and interpret airline customer manuals and drawings via customer on-line portals.
4. Must be able to work with manufacturing engineers on new methods and procedures.
5. Must be able to work within the guidelines of FAA FAR 145 regulations and customer airlines maintenance programs. Must be willing to obtain a FAA Repairman certificate as may be required under FAR regulations. A Lead Technician will be required to obtain the Repairman certification.
6. Must be able to train other employees on assembly processes and procedures.
8. Must use diagnostic equipment and a variety of tools specific to the trade.
9. Must be able to work on any Safran Seats USA manufactured product with very little training and little or no assistance.
10. Must be able to perform other duties as required.
11. Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s). Performs safety related duties as assigned.
Candidate skills & requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 18 months of related experience required – equivalent education, training and background may be substituted for experience.
• Will be required to pass competency test for Repair Technician classification within 30 days of successful award of this role.
• Requires a thorough understanding of assembly build practices and repair procedures.
• Must be able to perform skilled technician work that involves diagnosis, replacement, repair and rebuilding a variety of seats, equipment, components and/or systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, 3D models and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses, including, but not limited to, Repairman Certification to sign off on ARC. (Must be able to read, write and understand English and have applicable experience or training)
• Must have basic computer skills.
